SUPERVISOR - DAY / NIGHT

Janitorial Supervisor performs all duties of a janitor with greater efficiency and quality plus any other duty not specified but requested by their Operations Manager. They also keep track of supplies and order cleaning supplies when needed. At Associated Cleaning our Supervisors are very important, they are responsible for ensuring the job is done, they are our eyes when we may not be able to be at the account, and they are part of the third line in successfully completing a service. Supervisors daily interact with employees and on occasion with customers.

The next step for a Supervisor is usually to Night Assistant Manager or Hard Floor Tech.

 

WINDOW TECH

A Window Tech is a great job for those who like to move around, have some customer interaction and be outside a lot. A Window Tech is trained on the different methods of professionally cleaning glass and mirrored surfaces and provides those services in businesses and homes around Oregon. Window Techs work days and some work weekends. Window Techs sometimes receive tips.

Techs must be neat in appearance and smelling good, work well with customers, be reliable, and usually must have a valid driver's license.

May be cross-trained in carpets, floors, and cleaning as sometimes it is easier to send one person to do it all instead of a person for each task.

The next step for any Tech is usually to Tech Lead but there is the option for some of the night positions which have great growth opportunities and the ability to learn more about the company for those who have a long term interest in the company.

 

HARD FLOOR TECH

A Carpet/Vinyl Floor Tech is a great job for those with attention to detail and the ability to do what is needed. A Carpet/Vinyl Floor Tech should be physically fit, active, and can efficiently perform any cumbersome task.  Most Carpet/Vinyl Floor Techs work nights, weekends, and holidays. 

Tech's must be reliable, clear background check, and must have a valid driver's license.

The next step for any Tech is usually to Tech Lead but there is the option for some of the night positions which have great growth opportunities and the ability to learn more about the company for those who have a long term interest in the company.

 

CARPET TECH

A Carpet Tech is a great job for those with a strong back and arms or those who want to have them. A Carpet Tech is trained on the different methods of professionally cleaning carpets and provides those services in people's homes and businesses. Most Carpet Techs work either into the night or weekends to be able to take care of commercial customers, but not always. One of the benefits of Tech work is it does at times get tips.

TECH LEAD

A Tech Lead is a technician trained in all areas of service that ACS provides and has shown the ability to go beyond being a service provider to also being able to help assist in operations. A Tech Lead may be doing the work, inspecting, assisting in bidding or planning. A Tech Lead also works within and around the office regularly. Often the Tech Lead will be working on non-critical items to fill the time and when a customer or employee calls they are ready to respond and help as needed to complete the company's objective.

The next step for a Tech Lead is to a Tech Manager.

 

RECEPTIONIST

A Receptionist's duties are to cheerfully answer all calls and emails and direct them to the proper person. A Receptionist also helps with completing some basic data entry and ensures the office stays neat and orderly.

The next position most Receptionists take is to Office Assistant but there is also the ability to move into other areas such as Day or Night Environmental Tech,.

 

OFFICE ASSISTANT

An ACS Office Assistant is a job that can be full of different tasks and changes. Office Assistants help in processing phone calls, emails as well as helping with core processes such as AR/AP, Payroll. Assistants also have the ability to help with schedules, training, bidding, contract preparation and such. An Office Assistant needs to be able to do all of a receptionist's duties as well as being able to make decisions on their own and jump on task without needing direction. Some required skills would be typing, basic computer skills and internet skills.

The next step up from Office Assistant is Tech. Manager or Night Assistant Manager.

 

NIGHT ASSISTANT MANAGER

The Night Assistant Manager is the most important evening position currently. The Night Assistant Manager works closely with the Operations Manager to ensure all company objectives are met nightly. A Night Assistant Manager must be able to lead others well, be able to solve problems on their own correctly and always be reliable. 

Successful completion of the Night Assistant Manager position has been the most reliable method of moving up the corporate ladder. From Night Assistant Manger the positions of Tech. LeadTech Manager and Operations Manager are much easier to obtain than from any other level as they tend to have a great understanding of how the company's core business operates.

 

TECH MANAGER

A Tech Manager is someone that has the ability to manage all Techs by being able to train, inspect, evaluate and most importantly lead. A Tech Manager may at times work with Techs to complete company objectives. Often a Tech Manager spends part of their day in the office scheduling, doing reports, opening and closing work orders, and biding jobs. Tech Managers tend to work week day, day time hours with occasional weekend and night hours.

It is important that a Tech Manager possess the skills of a leader, takes responsibility for their actions, is personable and able to deal with customers and staff in a positive manner, and has basic computer skills. The most important part of any manager is the ability to manage your own workload.

The next step for a Tech Manager is to Operations Manager.

 

OPERATIONS MANAGER

An Operations Manager is much like a Tech Manager but on a much bigger scale. An Operations Manager is responsible for up to 50 people. Operations Manger spends more of their time working on HR items such as hiring, vacation request, training and inspecting. Operations Manager tends to work half in the office and half out of the office, 3/4 of the hours are day time and 1/4 are nights. Operations Manager and Night Assistant Manager are two of the most important jobs at ACS.

The quality needed to be an Operations Manager is one who puts work first and is driven to always work hard.

After Operations Manger the next step is General Manager.

 

GENERAL MANAGER

A General Manager is much like it sounds. It is a person that has knowledge of all the company's duties and spends most of their time making sure all the different departments and pieces are working together. A General Manager is someone who has shown a commitment to the company and is always thinking about what can make it better and never stops trying to improve.

General Managers need to have great customer skills, be able to stand strong to company guide lines, a steady character and the ability to accurately foresee possibilities before they happen. A General Manager is a rewarding position for those who have provided years of great service and now their knowledge and experience have become the most important thing they can share. 

After General Manager the next step is becoming an Officer.

 

OFFICER

An Officer is someone who after at least 15 years with the company and has moved up to the level of General Manager has been offered the ability to buy shares in the company or take shares in replacement of bonuses.  An Officer has the option to work a position in the company or just sit back and be part of the advisory board.
