A Tech Manager is someone that has the ability to manage all Techs by being able to train, inspect, evaluate and most importantly lead. A Tech Manager may at times work with Techs to complete company objectives. Often a Tech Manager spends part of their day in the office scheduling, doing reports, opening and closing work orders, and biding jobs. Tech Managers tend to work week day, day time hours with occasional weekend and night hours.
It is important that a Tech Manager possess the skills of a leader, takes responsibility for their actions, is personable and able to deal with customers and staff in a positive manner, and has basic computer skills. The most important part of any manager is the ability to manage your own workload.
